  1.  What is a WAP- POLE?

The WAP (Wireless Access Point) Pole is a pole that, once extracted from the trolley, allows for mounting of a router to improve the wireless signal when the trolley is used outside of the classroom, e.g. on football ovals or courtyards.

  1. Does a router come with the notebook trolley?

No, the PC Locs notebook trolleys are not delivered with a router. Some PC Locs Accredited Resellers may be able to offer you attractively priced package deals including a laptop trolley, notebooks and router. Please contact your preferred PC Locs reseller to find out if such package deals are available.

  1.  How is the notebook trolley secured overnight? What stops it from being wheeled out of a classroom?

All of the PC Locs laptop trolleys feature a 8mm hardened alloy security chain and come with a floor plate kit, which enables you to lock down and secure the entire laptop trolley in any suitable location.

  1. What size of laptops can be stored in the PC Locs notebook trolleys?

All PC Locs laptop trolley models are suitable for laptops up to 17inches.

  1. Can laptops be accessed and removed if the glass tops on the iRoller or Complete Lab laptop trolleys are broken?

The glass tops on the iRoller 20 bay and Complete Lab 28 bay laptop trolleys are made of toughened 10mm safety glass, which is very difficult to break. However, if that did occur, the laptops could not be accessed or removed as there is a metal frame underneath the glass preventing removal of the notebooks and providing maximum security.

  1. Is there any warranty on the PC Locs notebook trolleys?

All PC Locs laptop trolleys, notebook wall cages and project cages come with a 5 year manufacturer’s warranty.

  1. Once placed in a PC Locs laptop cradle, can laptops be closed?

No, laptops cannot fully close while locked in the PC Locs laptop cradle. The screen can be lowered approximately half way but cannot be closed completely due to the locking bar that secures the laptop in the cradle.

  1.  What’s the difference between the Pro-Cage Compact and the Pro-Cage Standard projector cage?

The main difference between the Compact and Standard Pro-Cage is their size. The Pro-Cage Compact has the internal dimensions 303mm w x 238mm d x 120mm h, the Pro-Cage Standard has the internal dimensions 372mm w x 361mm d x 162mm h. The Pro-Cage Compact also has one security stud with variable positioning, whereas the Pro-Cage Standard features a dual security stud with variable positioning.

  1. Can the laptop trolley security chain be extended, and if yes, how?

Yes, you can extend the laptop trolley security chain by purchasing a custom chain extension, which locks to the end of the original security chain with a concealed-shank block-lock (PC Locs BSD). Contact your Accredited PC Locs reseller and ask for a PC Locs Custom Chain, product ID 2322.

  1. What is the recommended height for the installation of a PC Locs Laptop Wall Cage?

PC Locs does not give any firm recommendations in regards to the height at which a wall cage should be installed. Wall cages can be installed at any heights – ranging from right above counters or shelving, up to heights that prevent smaller children reaching the wall cage. However, we recommend you take ergonomic considerations into account and install the wall cage at such a height that enables all users to remove and replace laptops with ease.

  1. What are the shipping times for a PC Locs laptop trolley?

Depending on where the laptop trolleys are delivered to, shipping takes about one week from the time of dispatch from the PC Locs factory. Please contact your PC Locs Accredited Reseller for up-to-date information on availability and delivery times.
